Maynard Marks has an opportunity for an experienced Associate Environmental Consultant to join our Environmental Services team with a focus on asbestos management in our Auckland office.
This is a senior technical and client-facing role, independently managing medium to large projects, leading key components of complex assignments, and supporting the ongoing growth of our Environmental Services practice. You will work closely with clients, contractors, and internal teams while mentoring and supporting less experienced consultants.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Leading and delivering asbestos management surveys, refurbishment surveys, and demolition surveys.
- Preparing asbestos management plans for medium to large projects in line with legislative and client requirements.
- Developing detailed scopes of work for asbestos removal projects.
- Undertaking asbestos air monitoring and issuing clearance certificates for Class A and Class B removal works.
- Managing projects, including contractor engagement, programme delivery, budget control, and risk management.
- Acting as a key point of contact for clients and managing stakeholder relationships.
- Preparing and reviewing high-quality technical reports.
- Supporting business development through client relationship management and proposal preparation.
- Mentoring and supporting other consultants and contributing to strong team culture.
- Undertaking site visits and travel across the North Island as required.
What you will bring to the team
- 5-7 years of relevant experience in asbestos consultancy or the construction / environmental sector.
- A relevant environmental-related qualification and a Licenced Asbestos Assessor qualification.
- Strong knowledge of asbestos-related legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Proven experience managing projects, contractors, and client delivery.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to obtain security clearances.
- A full New Zealand Driver Licence.
