I am an approachable and confident Building Surveyor with extensive experience in building maintenance and refurbishment. My in-depth understanding of buildings and construction equips me with valuable skills in forensic diagnosis, identifying defects and driving remedial solutions. This is bolstered by many years of quantity surveying experience, offering transferable expertise such as contractual knowledge and value engineering. I produce comprehensive and practical reports and recommendations for a wide range of properties, including housing, apartments, schools, and commercial buildings.

I spent eight years as Principal Technical Advisor at the Ministry of Business Innovation and Employment Weathertight Homes Resolution Service before returning to consultancy in 2023. There, I commissioned, scoped and reviewed reports from external Building Surveyors, ensuring remediation designs resolved defects and met Building Consent requirements, along with assessing reasonable costs and evaluating remedial work on site.

My role sees me frequently act as an expert witness, providing my technical opinion to help achieve fair and informed resolutions in complex construction-related disputes.
