As consultants on a number of building-related projects, we’re often in a position to recommend or engage suitably qualified sub-consultants and contractors.

Amotai is the centre of excellence for social procurement and supplier diversity in Aotearoa. It’s a government initiative that connects Māori and Pasifika-owned businesses with buyers wanting to purchase goods, services and works.

Our Aumatua membership of Amotai enables us to connect with Māori and Pasifika-owned businesses with the skills and capacity to work on the projects with which we’re involved. It also improves our team’s cultural awareness by providing us with practical advice and support to successfully engage with more Māori and Pasifika-owned businesses.

Mark Powell, director at Maynard Marks said:

“Diversity, equity and inclusion are really important to us, not just internally but in our relationships with our partners. We want to play our part in creating a fair and equitable economy and to build our cultural awareness, so we engage and collaborate with our suppliers and partners in ways that are meaningful for them. Our membership of Amotai enables us to improve and continually learn in this important area and, importantly, to play a small part in creating opportunities for more local businesses.”
