Auckland
Return to all projectsThe project:
Our team was appointed to provide early quantity surveying services for Auckland Central City Library’s active and passive fire upgrade project. This involved supplying cost estimating services and a schedule of prices, along with supporting the procurement process.
The project faced unique challenges, including the need to review varying fire design drawings spanning many years with multiple design changes and limited information. To address these issues, we recommended additional site visits for scope clarification. We also helped to strategically separate the works into Building Consent and Non-Consent categories to be carried out in stages whilst aligning with the client’s budget.
Our value add:
Our proactive approach, including suggesting Early Contractor Involvement (ECI), ensured clarity around the project’s scope and timeline. By working closely with the design team and fire engineer, we provided effective cost estimation and procurement support and successfully negotiated pricing with suppliers.
This collaborative effort helped maintain the project’s trajectory, with construction works ongoing.
