Uncovering defects and recommending remediation strategies

Bruce Mason Centre, Takapuna

Return to all projects

Nestled in the urban hub of Takapuna, the iconic Bruce Mason Centre has played an important role in the community since its construction in 1995, hosting an array of productions. The building operator was concerned the building was suffering from weathertightness issues and appointed us to investigate.

The project:

Initially engaged for localised investigations, our scope expanded to a full weathertightness and general condition survey. Our work involved investigation of the entire building envelope, including walls, roof, and structure, to identify leaks and associated damage.

Our value add:

We completed a comprehensive report identifying the various issues and making repair recommendations, following which our quantity surveyors provided cost estimates, enabling the Regional Facilities Auckland team to evaluate the options, which included repairing the building or redeveloping the site.

Our investigation gave the client the critical insight needed to make an informed, strategic decision about the building’s future.
