Façade and joinery testing is a crucial step in the quality assurance of weather-tightness for new-build construction, mitigating manufacturing and installation defects that can result in costly repairs. The testing also allows for verification of successful remedial works on existing buildings.
Pressurized water is applied to the joinery or cladding at a controlled rate, and wind pressures are simulated by a monitored vacuum chamber on the interior. This method efficiently identifies any weathertightness failures to the joinery, flashings, or seals. Our team can then advise best-practice solutions to correct any issue, ensure compliance and enable healthier buildings for owners and occupants as a result.
To ensure the quality of our on-site joinery testing, we follow industry guidelines including the SNZ TS 4211:2022, AS/NZS 4284:2008, and Window & Glass Association New Zealand (WGANZ) Field Testing Procedures. These guidelines are based on the American Aluminum Manufacturers Association (AAMA).
