Return to all projectsThe project:
Leveraging our multi-disciplinary expertise, members of our building surveying, quantity surveying, structural engineering and asbestos consultancy teams swiftly mobilised and attended the site, to assess the damage and determine the scope of works required. This rapid response was essential to contain hazards and manage risks, including structural instability and the potential presence of asbestos-containing materials.
Our building surveyors captured a point-in-time digital twin model of the building, which was instrumental in developing a broad scope of work for the necessary repairs. It also facilitated clear communication regarding the extent of the damage to all parties involved.
Our structural engineers designed a temporary propping system for make-safe works, whilst our quantity surveyors provided high-level cost estimates to the client before the contractor's engagement. Upon completion of the works, we notified Auckland Council and submitted the necessary documentation to demonstrate compliance with the Dangerous Buildings Notice.
Maynard Marks is currently reviewing the proposed reinstatement work with Auckland Council to identify any potential compliance issues before commencing detailed design documentation for building consent.
Our value add:
With several of our consultants under one roof, the reporting and temporary works process were expedited. Our fast response allowed for timely feedback on building reinstatement options, an upfront estimate of costs and timelines for each stage and efficient progress toward the building's restoration.
