Supplying vibrant, low-maintenance outdoor spaces for year-round use

Remuera, Auckland

Return to all projects

Remuera Primary is a large urban primary school with a diverse cultural mix of students from years 0 to 6. The school spent its School Investment Package (SIP) allocation on two artificial turf areas and a sensory path, engaging us to project manage these simultaneously.

The project:

This scope involved creating two new artificial turf areas, one in place of an old playing field and the other covering an adjoining asphalt basketball court. The school also asked us to project manage the creation of a sensory path, complete with integrated games. Their goal was to create year-round, safe playing spaces using artificial turf to improve drainage.

Our value add:

The successful and timely delivery of this project was contingent upon an efficient procurement process. Despite the challenges posed by Covid-19 restrictions, we completed the project on budget and to the satisfaction of the school. The completed areas are both vibrant and low-maintenance. They are well-received by the children, fast becoming popular spaces that encourage physical activity, creativity, and social interaction.
