Jojo practised as a project architect for 15 years in the Philippines, with a particular focus on school and commercial projects. In 2006, he moved to New Zealand and, since that time, has worked almost solely as an architectural designer on remediation and recladding projects for various client types including education, Bodies Corporate, residential and commercial building owners and occupiers. As a result, Jojo completely understands how to design remediation solutions for leaky and other defective buildings.
At Maynard Marks Jojo continues to focus on remediation projects as well as new builds – using his experience of defective buildings to design new build solutions that will stand the test of time.
Jojo knows the ins and outs of construction and the problems that commonly occur with buildings leading to premature failure, and prides himself on being able to design proven solutions. Importantly, his documentation is highly detailed, clearly articulating how complex junctions should be constructed. His systematic approach and attention to detail enables the builder to easily follow and construct his designs.
Jojo is well versed in computer aided design technology and he keeps abreast of the latest trends and design ideas. His design philosophy is to provide a better solution to ensure building issues are avoided in the future and the buildings will exist for future generations to enjoy.
Jojo is a good listener with an ability to quickly interpret client briefs and the advice of other specialists. He is committed to a collaborative project approach, working closely with clients and the wider project team.
