Max Jagersma

Max is a Licensed Asbestos Assessor with extensive industry experience. He began his career as a field technician performing air monitoring and bulk sampling, which led to him actively seeking to further his knowledge of the industry. He has since worked as an asbestos assessor and consultant on many small, private, and large-scale projects, including work for various district health boards, heritage buildings, universities and museums, and numerous high profile sites requiring strict, tailored solutions.

Max holds a BOHS IP404 qualification for air monitoring, clearance inspection and reoccupation following the removal of asbestos and an Independent Assessors License, granted by WorkSafe New Zealand. He has knowledge in planning and conducting asbestos clearance inspections including generating certificates of re-occupation for both Class A and Class B work. Max is highly proficient with Phase Contrast Microscopy, specifically the analysis of MCE filters in determining airborne fibre concentrations and is competent in bulk analysis for the presence of asbestos with experience in PLM for all common friable and non-friable fibrous products.

With a positive and outgoing nature, Max has excellent communication skills and has a strong track record in client communication, managing asbestos removal projects, along with providing reports, guidance, and recommendations associated with all aspects of asbestos remediation. Max is able to alleviate and relay appropriate concern in high pressure situations allowing personal reassurance of safety or required action to clients.

A results-focused, process-driven individual, Max is committed to accuracy and competency, capably identifying system improvements to promote greater efficiencies and quality control standards. Methodical and proactive, Max has strong abilities in general administration including database management and organization of relevant information for multiple on-going projects.
