Charles Johnston

Charles attained his Architect qualifications at the University of Bath, England and started his career providing Design, Planning and Property consultation services in Bath, Somerset the Unesco World heritage city, with an early career focus on sensitively restoring historic Residential and Commercial buildings.

 His career then expanded to provide Surveying, Design and Project Management consultancy services for major UK House Developers across a mixture of new build and refurbishment schemes in Southern England.

Charles’s career diversified into the retail industry working client side for large multi-national corporates primarily in the United Kingdom and Far East Asia. During his time, he worked on high profile developments gaining in-depth Project and Budget management knowledge in the managing of consultant disciplines to Design, Plan and Construct a diverse range of retail outlet formats.

 At Maynard Marks, Charles provides Project Management and Engineers Representative services, responsible for Contract Administration, construction programme monitoring and quality assurance for a wide range of projects. With his Architectural and Building Surveyor background Charles recognizes the importance in paying attention to detail and enjoys managing contractual matters and resolving complex challenges that arise when remediating leaky buildings.

 Charles has a specific interest and specialism in Feasibility Pre-construction due diligence and recognizes the vital importance of early contractor engagement in the property development life cycle to deliver best outcomes. His client-side background draws on the strength in providing clear and accurate communication whilst developing and maintaining strong stakeholder partnerships to provide practical cost-effective solutions underpinning the service he provides to clients.
